In the early 1970’s, when few others were doing it, Steve Pettit and Bill Bakke were casting for steelhead with floating lines, fiberglass rods and click pawl Pflueger reels. The excitement of those experiences helped to launch both men into careers in conservation. Bill founded Oregon Trout and the Native Fish Society. Steve went to work for Idaho Fish and Game as the agency’s Columbia Basin Fish Passage Specialist, a position from which he fought for steelhead and salmon for over 30 years. Through it all, they both kept on exploring and fishing. The fight in the thousands of fish they connected with energized the battles each man took on to protect and restore rivers in the Pacific Northwest. Come hear and see what the past and future of wild fish holds, through the eyes of Bill and Steve’s combined century of experience. Tickets on sale April 1.
